The Art and Impact of Print Graphic Design: A Timeless Craft
In an age dominated by digital screens, it’s easy to overlook the subtle elegance and enduring appeal of print graphic design. Yet, this timeless craft remains a powerful tool for communication, creativity, and connection. From eye-catching posters to meticulously crafted brochures, print design continues to captivate and engage audiences in ways that digital media sometimes can’t match.
I have had the pleasure of designing a few pieces for clients recently that are specifically for print. The piece you see is the cover for The Midwest Black Family Reunion in Cincinnati, Ohio. They wanted a 16 page magazine, of sorts, to provide the community with partners they work with throughout the year and highlight the positive impact those organizations make.
What is wonderful about this printed piece is people can take the magazine home and keep the portions they want. Hang on the fridge, note board, have laying on the table. The information doesn't get lost the way digital information can. Remember "out of site, out of mind"? Print helps prevent that.
